Both valleys are open together only in the warmer months, mainly because of the Deosai crossing. Here is what to expect.
Spring
Blossoms in Hunza and pleasant weather. Deosai may still be closed by snow early in spring.
Summer
Best time for the combo. Deosai and Khunjerab are open, and both valleys are lush and green.
Autumn
Golden colours, clear skies and fewer crowds. One of the most scenic times to travel.
Winter
Heavy snow closes Deosai, so the combined Hunza Skardu tour is not available in winter.
Deosai National Park, the Land of Giants
Sitting at around 4,000 metres, Deosai is the world's second-highest plateau and the stunning link between Hunza and Skardu. Crossing it is the highlight that makes the combined tour so special.
On the way you reach the deep blue Sheosar Lake, endless green plains and, if you are lucky, the Himalayan brown bear. Deosai is only open in the warmer months, which is why our combo tour runs from June to October.
